Herbal Supplement Investigation

Posted by: Brian Schaffer

The New York State Attorney General’s Office has recently sent out Cease and Desist Notifications to GNC, Target, Walgreens and Walmart, alleging their herbal supplements fail to contain the advertised ingredients.

Fitapelli & Schaffer is interested in filing a class action against these large companies for their false and misleading labeling. Below is a list of affected products:

GNC
Gingko Biloba, St. Johns Wort, Ginseng, Echinacea, and Saw Palmetto
Target
Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Valerian Root
Walgreens
Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Ginseng, Garlic, and Echinacea

Wal-Mart
Gingko Biloba, St. John’s Wort, Ginseng, Garlic, Echinacea, and Saw Palmetto

If the Attorney General’s findings are correct, these products and their advertisements may constitute deceptive marketing practices, in addition to causing possible serious health risks for consumers. Fitapelli & Schaffer, LLP have recovered millions of dollars for its clients through class action and collective action lawsuits. If you have purchased any herbal supplement from GNC, Target, Walgreens, or Walmart, please contact us at (212) 300-0375 or visit our website at www.fslawfirm.com to pursue a case.
